WHAT TO EXPECT

The Medical Billing and Coding Certification is also known as a medical coder or a health information technologist. This is a 16 week online course. These professionals are responsible for maintaining and accurately reporting and categorizing patient information. They manage health information and ensure its’ quality through a series of checks and balances. They also need basic knowledge of medical terminology, patient care skills, and general office skills.

  • Accurately entering patient financial information to ensure timely payments Billing and coding for insurance purposes 
  • Medical terminology and basic anatomy and physiology 
  • Communicating with patients 
  • General office duties

COURSE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years of age 
  • Copy of driver’s license or picture ID 
  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED 
  • Speak, Read, write English 
  • Criminal Background Check 
  • Pre-Registration Assessment Exams to be passed with a minimum of 75% to be accepted into the program. 

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS: this is an online hybrid course. You will need a laptop, Personal Computer (PC), or MAC to take this class. A printer is not required but very helpful. Chrome Browser for Google Classroom. You may be able to use an I-pad, but it is a little more difficult to work with. We DO NOT recommend using a smartphone to take the class. We will not offer help on a smartphone.


ALL REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IS ONLINE:

You will prepay your $300 deposit to reserve a seat for the class. Go to https://hearttoheartctc.enrollware.com. Registration documents will be sent via DocuSign to complete and return once your deposit is received. You will need to send a copy of drivers’ license, and high school diploma or GED.
